An example of platform-as-a-service (PaaS) would be Google App Engine or Microsoft Azure, where code could be executed on a virtual stack of equipment (programming platform). An example of infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) is Amazon Web Services (AWS) Elastic Compute (EC2), where a VM can be started up with virtual network services with only a credit card and you are billed periodically. An example of backup-as-a-service (BaaS) is Microsoft Azure cloud backup or Google Drive, just to name a couple.
